The 79th Venice Film Festival is currently underway, and fashions are front and center Filmmakers, actors, models and pop stars take to the streets of Venice to celebrate the best in international film excellence. Among the attendees who caught our attention was actress and Gucci muse Jodie Turner-Smith who glided down the red carpet in a sleek lilac slip dress with cutouts by Et Ochs. She enhanced the look with layered necklaces and a simple black clutch.
She later wowed at the “Bordeaux” premiere in an abstract art-inspired gown by Christopher John Rogers. The gown in question was inspired by Look 33 from Rogers’ collection 009 and the art of late abstract pioneer Sam Gilliam. Styled by Wayman and Micah, Jodie paired the colorful racerback twill gown with a sparkling diamond choker and complimentary drop earrings. The “Anne Boylen” star was one to watch this week. In a stunning black sequined Gucci gown with satin neon green opera gloves and a pink lace dress, also by Gucci, with huge white lace-up boots, she dominated red carpet after red carpet. Another memorable look she wore was a sheer red Versace dress with a coordinating Brandon Blackwood bag and contrasting green Kendall Miles plush heels.
Other stars in attendance included Tessa Thompson who stole the show in a blue archival Armani Prive look, Cate Blanchett, Hillary Clinton and Emma Chamberlin. The Venice Film Festival, considered the oldest festival in the world, will continue until September 10. As many acclaimed international films continue to make their debut, we’re excited to see more red carpet looks.
