Vanessa Hudgens is going full Y2K in a bandeau top look

Vanessa Hudgens hit up a post-Fashion Week event in New York City with her friend and former co-star, Ashley Benson. The two actresses coordinated their monochrome, Y2K-inspired outfits — Benson opted for a mini dress with a long slit, while Hudgens went for a sporty spice vibe in a black bandeau top and high-waisted ruched skirt. To complete the look, Hudgens paired a gold pendant necklace and chunky platform boots with the all-black dress.

Hudgens himself explained his personal motivation, posting a close-up photo on Instagram and writing, “Spice up your life.” The 33-year-old was in New York City celebrating her partnership with Thomas Ashbourne, a spirits company with which she, Benson and Rosario Dawson worked to create a margarita line. In addition to this stylish look, Hudgens recently hit the front row of Michael Kors’ Spring 2023 runway show in a black catsuit and appeared on the cover of Nylon magazine in several barbeque-inspired outfits.

Hudgens has been leaning into many retro looks as of late. She recently wore an ’80s-inspired turtleneck thong for a Calliewater photo shoot, an early favorite in crystal-encrusted beach slides while vacationing in Italy last month, and a ’70s one-shoulder feather-trimmed gown on vacation.

There is no doubt that Hudgens has fun with her fashion choices. Whether she’s trying out a new color, pattern, or simply reviving the best trends of decades past, she’s one style star who reliably provides everyday outfit inspiration.
