As the sun set over the Hudson River, on a pier in midtown Manhattan, Tory Burch unveiled her spring 2023 collection on Tuesday, September 12. As is customary at his shows, big-name celebrities attended the front row, notably brand ambassador (until April): Sidney Sweeney. Embracing a bold color palette, the “Euphoria” star arrived at Pier 76 in a black sleeveless wool minidress with a plunging neckline and a fitted bodice flaking between a bubble skirt. A pair of matching platform sandals worn with white lace socks added height, while a black choker necklace introduced a punk element. Other finishing accessories include the Tory Burch Petite Lee Radziwill Cat Eye Bag ($548) and small drop earrings.

Sweeney’s mostly black outfit contrasted with Lana Condor’s dress, which included a white short-sleeved boatneck dress with diamond-shaped cutouts forming a row under her chest. Condor styled it with the Tory Burch Mini Cutout Logo Tote ($598) in white (sticking with the cutout theme) and finished it off with gold chrome heeled sandals. “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before” actress Shore recently posed with Chloe Fineman, wearing a Fineman black square-neck maxi dress and Tory Burch Eleanor Patent Jeweled Logo Small Convertible Shoulder Bag ($648) in burgundy.

While the star presence helped build excitement for the show, the catwalk alone delivered the act. Boxy blazers and wrap-front skirts inspired by Claire McCardle continued the playful theme of recent seasons, but a parade of sheer tops and double-layer skirts amped up the youthful vibe and took things in a more playful direction. Drawing from his memories of New York in the 90s, according to the show notes, Burch wanted to “look at my signatures with a new perspective, reflecting what feels modern now”. The fashion designer is gradually moving away from her signature demure style in favor of less cover-up pieces that mold to the body. Still, some things remained the same: clothes were not complicated; They moved with ease and exuded quiet elegance.

Ahead, see what some of the front-row stars wore and admire our favorite looks from the collection.
