For Taylor Swift, a new album ushers in a new era of style. The 11-time Grammy winner was honored for Songwriter-Artist of the Decade at the Nashville Songwriters Awards on Wednesday evening, where she dazzled in a black figure-hugging sequin gown. It was a smart choice for the singer, who began releasing her “Midnights” tracklist on TikTok just hours after the show. The Michael Kors Collection design had all the elements of a sleek, flattering dress: an asymmetrical hip cutout, one sleeve and a high slit.
Styling her signature blonde hair in a long bubble pony, Swift paired the mock-neck dress with glittery Aquazura sandals and Rahminov diamond drop earrings. As she performed the full 10-minute version of “All to Well” and gave a speech about her approach to songwriting, her outfit sparkled at every turn. Swift has so far leaned toward bold embellishments and flattering silhouettes during her “Midnights” era, similar to her fashion during her “Fame” period in 2017 and 2018.
Teasing her upcoming music during a surprise appearance at the VMAs in August, she wore a completely nude Oscar de la Renta dress covered in draped crystals. Later that night for an after party, she changed into a midnight-blue Moschino romper lined with crystals and decorated with sequined stars. Most recently, Swift opted for another unexpected outfit for the Toronto International Film Festival on Sept. 11, a Louis Vuitton halter gown adorned with mirrored gold coin detailing.
