“Stranger Things” season four provides a new wave of supernatural mayhem, questionable haircuts, and of course, fashion inspiration. With the latest episodes set partly in the fictional city of Lenora Hills, CA, there is a noticeable change in the cast’s attire to channel the aesthetics of California in the 80’s. Think: Lots of patterned button downs, graphic tees and pastel colorways. As it turns out, not every on-screen outfit was snatched from the vintage store; Some were created specifically for the show in partnership with Quicksilver, and fans can now purchase the right pieces online.
Amy Parris, the Netflix show’s costume designer, has worked with Quiksilver for three years to create clothing collections inspired by the surf culture of the 80’s, digging into the brand’s archives to revive the designs. These redesigned styles pop up in the main character and extras throughout four seasons and include Nancy Wheeler (Natalia Dyer) denim jacket, Max Mayfield (Sadie Sink) blue and yellow zip-up and Argyle (Eduardo Franco) wardrobe. Paris and Quicksilver have also created additional clothing and accessories so that fans can represent Surfer Boy Pizza, Hellfire Club, Lenora Hills and Upside Down.
“Quicksilver was an integral part of California fashion in the 1980s,” Paris told Gear Patrol. “[‘Stranger Things’] So true for the duration that it is understandable to feel the pieces of the Quicksilver archive through the show this season. Together, Quicksilver and I worked carefully to ensure that the fit, fabric, and feel of each outfit were true and that it was like a character’s closet over time. “
“Stranger Things” x QuickSilver’s collaboration includes T-shirts, shorts, jackets, sunglasses, hats, bags and even swimsuits, ranging from $ 25 to $ 160. Read on to buy a number of costumes worn by the characters in the fourth season, including our favorite picks from Nostalgic Collection.
