Louis Vuitton has set its sights on unveiling the Resort 2023 collection in San Diego, CA, where the Salk Institute for Biological Studies has a crowd of notable celebrities and celebrities. “Euphoria” star Maude Apatow was present, wearing a sage-green Louis Vuitton turtleneck sweater with gold hardware buckles and a dark-blue tweed miniskirt with a huge sash with blue velvet lines. The swarm of fabrics create an alluring silhouette reminiscent of Victorian-era dressing, the theme creative director Nicolas Ghesquier explored in detail in his ready-to-wear collection for the spring of 2022. The actress added height with knee-high leather boots in a cognac shade and accessorized with a gold chainlink choker necklace, matched to the hardware of the sweater, and small gold hoops. Her top bun, rose blush and pink lips have finished the look beautifully.
Joining Apatow was actress Emma Roberts, who wore an LV brown button-front coat dress with pink and gray horizontal stripes. In contrast to a white collar clay palette, it gives a sporty edge. The “Holiday” star opts for knee-high boots in the same shade, though open toe. She completes her equestrian-inspired look with a red-and-white monogram box clutch, delicious gold hoops, and a matching chunky necklace. Roberts poses with another VIP guest, Australian model Miranda Kerr, who appeared on a tweed miniskirt set.
The stars gathered at the architectural site for a show that, according to Ghescuer, had the sun as the guest of honor. “It plays an active role in the evolution of these garments where temperature changes set a stylistic tempo,” she said in a show note. This would explain why many reflective clothing models wore under the catwalk – namely, a series of metallic gold, silver and copper trousers; A shiny gold coat; A floral embroidered shirt; And shiny halter tops that double as armor. Against a concrete background, Ghesquier played with natural elements, presenting the highest silhouettes in linen, jacquard, silk, leather and tweed – all of which were illuminated in dialogue with the sunset.
The event follows last week’s Channel Cruise-Season kickoff show in Monaco, where the French luxury home invites family and friends to watch the 2023 resort show on a pebble beach. Gucci is next in the fashion calendar presented in Italy on 16 May.
