Quinta Brunson ruffled her own feathers (in a good way) last night at the ESPY Awards, wearing a dress made entirely of multicolored plumes. The rainbow coral Gurung minidress was perfect for Brunson, writer and comedian of the Emmy-nominated Hulu series “Abbott Elementary,” and thought out with bright-pink Stuart Weitzman heels. The end result created a playful and whimsical effect that was still sophisticated. Brunson is seen practically floating on the red carpet.
Brunson kept the focus on her feathers with a sleek, ’60s-inspired hair flip and makeup that matched the plum undertones of her dress. Friends and fans alike fell in love with her fluffy, feathered fantasy on Instagram, with Issa Rae saying, “Quinta! It’s so cute!!!,” and Amy Schumer calling the look, “next level.” This colorful outfit shows a lighter side of Brunson, who was recently featured on Essence’s digital cover in a regal ivory satin and glamorous gold gown.
“Life can be dark and scary, but what makes people so resilient is the ability to find light in dark situations,” she said in her Essence interview. “I think that’s the only reason that we’re still on this planet. It’s definitely the only reason that black people are still here. Our ability to shine is really powerful. It’s really important and I wanted to be a part of providing that,” Brunson said before looking radiant on the red carpet. Check out the photos, and stay tuned to find out what her next look will be
