Princess Charlotte wears navy polka dots like Kate Middleton

As Princess Charlotte grows up, it looks like she’s taking a page from mom Kate Middleton’s style handbook. The 7-year-old sat on her father’s lap to record an Instagram video for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge where they wished England’s women’s soccer team, the Lionesses, luck in the Euro 2020 final match. And she did so in a stylish outfit reminiscent of her mother’s earlier looks.

Charlotte wore a navy-blue short-sleeve frock with white polka dots, a print we’ve seen on mom Middleton many times before. In fact, the Duchess wore polka dots twice in July, and both designs were by Alessandra Riche, one of the cutting edge clothing labels with its eye-catching details.

In June, the royal family shared a photo to celebrate Father’s Day with Charlotte sporting a similar color palette of navy and white, this time in a ruffle-trimmed apron dress with a smocked bodice. She wore the cornflower-blue outfit with her brothers — George, 9, and Louis, 4 — for their carriage debut in Trooping the Color on June 2.

While blue is favored by Middleton and the rest of the family, the polka dots in particular make the connection even more significant and help the princess bear a striking resemblance to her mother in this new video.

Ahead, reminisce about some of Middleton’s best moments in polka dots in recent history, then play along to revisit Charlotte’s adorable look with her dad.
