I admit it: I’m obsessed with bodycon-dress. There’s something about a curve-hug number that makes me feel most confident, and because of that, I can never stay too long. Following virtually every style and color under the sun, I recently stumbled across an old navy fitted sleeveless rib-knit midi dress ($ 40) and knew I needed it in my closet, Stat. On the front, find my honest review of the perfect silhouette for summer.
What I like about this dress
Um, all right? First, there are some serious stretches of this dress. Instead of struggling to get it from the overhead, I was able to put my foot in it and pull it quickly and easily. And fit? Just As I expected. I ordered my normal size medium, and hugged my curve without feeling it was sucking my body. It’s light and comfortable – So Comfortable, indeed, I was able to get an afternoon nap in it (and I see myself doing it again in the future, TBH). Finally, it gives me a 90’s vibe in the best way possible, and the side slit is such a fun touch.
Is this dress good for the occasion?
This dress can be easily worn on top or bottom with accessories, be it a pair of trendy sneakers and a denim jacket or jewelry and designer heels. This summer, I find myself wearing it in a bunch of different ways. Since it’s as comfortable as pajamas, I’ll probably wear it more often to work from home, but I also think it will come in handy for date nights and fun times with friends.
What’s remarkable about this dress
Although the app has mostly five-star reviews, some low-ranking people from buyers have described it as “C-through”. In my experience, there was no fuchsia design (called “cosmic ruse”). I was able to wear a neutral color strapless bra and matching seamless undies underneath without being able to see them. It doesn’t hide my body’s normal flaws and bumps, but I didn’t expect it – it’s from the BodLove collection, after all!
Second, keep in mind that there is only one side slit. At first I thought there was one on both sides, but after checking the product description, I realized that it only has one on the left.
Would I recommend this outfit?
Yes! I Really I would like to buy this dress in another color, but I am resisting because my collection is getting a little out of hand. But I must keep my eye on the beautiful teal color called Mediterranean.
