Megan Repino’s white pantsuit honors Britney Greener

On Thursday, July 7, U.S. female national footballer, World Cup champion, and Olympic gold medalist Megan Rapino was honored at the White House with the Joe Biden Presidential Independence Medal. Repino was among 16 other recipients, including Simone Byles, and was recognized for his support of his fellow LGBTQI + Americans and for his successful fight for equal pay.

The 37-year-old leader worked with celebrity stylist Carla Welch to create a special pantsuit for the event, courtesy of luxury workwear brand Bode New York. Appropriately, creative director Emily Adams Bode Ajla was the first female designer at the New York Fashion Week: Men’s Show. Rapinoe and Welch Bode have collaborated with the team to incorporate fine hand embroidery into the cause and to honor the organizations that Rapinoe supports. The suit also pays homage to professional basketball player Britney Greener – her initials were sewn with a flower on the right lapel of her ivory satin jacket. Greener is currently being held in Russia for his criminal trial for carrying a vapor cartridge with marijuana oil. Rapino spotted the honorary monogram on his Instagram store, sharing a close-up of the hand-sewn detail with the text, “Today’s Most Important Part: BG We Love You.”

Radapino finished her all-white dress সম্ভবত perhaps a color consensus for the women’s suffrage movement দিয়ে with a diamond choker necklace, a pendant earrings, a timepiece, a gold chainlink bracelet, and a ring. A pair of Bode-signed black leather house shoes – with cow and sun ornaments on top – completed the monochromatic shoe.
