Maitreyi Ramakrishnan wears a blue velvet gown at TIFF

Amidst all the fads and microtrends that sometimes overrun the red carpet, “Never Have I Ever” star Maitreyi Ramakrishnan kept it timeless in a stunning blue velvet gown at the Toronto International Film Festival. The elegant one-shoulder dress had a kind of classic glamor with flattering ruching and, most notably, an oversized bow detail at the back, which draped down Ramakrishnan’s back and added more volume to the gown. With her hair swept to the side and soft waves, the 20-year-old looked like a Hollywood film star transported to modern times, keeping her accessories simple with a gold nose ring and diamond earrings.

While this velvet number was definitely a show stopper, it was actually Ramakrishnan’s second high-fashion TIFF look to grab our attention. Sticking to her bright color palette, the actress earlier stepped out in a warm yellow midi dress that hit just above her ankles, serving up a present-day ballet vibe. Ramakrishnan later posted a photo of Luke on his Instagram, happily eating a hot dog in a sun-kissed, strapless number (as he should). Interestingly, the yellow dress also features a bow detail, except this time it was the top half of the dress, helping her two TIFF looks come together just right. Check out more photos of her breathtaking blue velvet gown ahead and see how Ramakrishnan kept it classic on the carpet.
