Madonna and Lourdes Leone made New York Fashion Week a family affair. The mother-daughter duo sat front row at Tom Ford’s spring 2023 runway show on Sept. 14 and wore coordinating outfits. Madonna styled a silky black two-piece set with fingerless leather gloves and a lacy lingerie-style bodysuit, while Leon wore a shimmering ankle-length tank dress, a cross-pendant necklace and strappy sandals. They were joined by Madonna’s 22-year-old son, Rocco Ricci, who wore a purple velvet suit, a silk button-down and sunglasses that matched his mom’s.
Madonna sat among the eldest of her six children in Skylight on Vesey while the Hadid sisters and other models presented a sequin-dripping collection filled with cutout dresses, tiny bralette tops and oversized jackets. Other stars in attendance included Laurie Harvey, who went shirtless in a suede olive-green blazer; Ciara, who turned heads in an all-red ensemble; and Conan Grey, who wore a plunging gold top and leopard-print pants.
Leone is no stranger to fashion week, making her catwalk debut at Gypsy Sport’s NYFW show in 2018 when she was 21. Since then, she’s walked runways for Versace, Rihanna’s Savage X Fenty brand and Marine Serre, and sat front row at countless other presentations.
Discussing her modeling career with Interview magazine last year, Leone said: “I want to create a world where models have more agency over what they’re doing and aren’t just silent clothes racks. That’s the age we’re in in the fashion world.” Coming Again: Models as Personality and Artist.”
