La La Anthony Talks 2000s Fashion and PrettyLittleThing Edit

For many millennia, growing up in the 90’s and 00’s meant a show usually dominated your post-school routine: “Total Request Live.” Affectionately called “TRL”, the show aired on MTV for 10 years from 1998 to 2008, and had a roster of VJs (video jockeys) who counted the top 10 music videos of the day. Few people understand the cultural impact of “TRL” more than La Antony.

In the early 2000’s, Anthony got his big break as a “TRL” host. Interviews with superstars since then have undoubtedly prepared her for some of the roles she recently received, such as hosting Vogue’s Met Gala red carpet live stream in May.

For the most famous occasion in fashion, Anthony chose an open-shoulder, burgundy outfit from his friend Lakuan Smith. “I wanted to support him, [and] I wanted to support a black designer, “says Anthony Popsugar.” We just played with the guilded glamor theme. We were really happy with how everything turned out. It was a great collaboration and a look that I will always cherish. “

She paired the dramatic silk gown with a striking Laurel Dewit headpiece, tilted slightly to one side. On the accessory front, he chose David Yerman’s diamonds, which included teardrop diamond earrings and bracelets. Christian Louboutin was the last touch of the hill. “Bringing a hat made it feel like gilded glamor,” said Anthony. “There were Swarovski crystals all over the dress, which gave it extra pop of glamor. We hit it. [the theme] In a few different sections; I love the rich ruby color. It got me into that gilded glamor mentality. “

As an ambassador for PrettyLittleThing, the 39-year-old actress, writer, producer and entrepreneur seeks to develop some of those awesome designs in her recent edits for the e-commerce giant. With a total of 20 looks, Anthony’s curation – which he described as “flamboyant and daring” – is easy to mix and match depending on your summer style.

“There are prints and bright colors that can be taken from day to night,” he says “I always think with clothing, you want to be able to use a lot of them.”

Anthony is particularly fond of coral matching sets in his new PLT edits that include a bandu top and wide leg pants, both featuring 2000’s fashion. “A lot of the dress is really nice, too,” she adds. “They have cutouts in all the right places that can give you a sexy, agile vibe.”

Keeping in mind the fashion trends of the 2000s, Anthony walked POPSUGAR through the nostalgic style he wore in his “TRL” days, which he can recreate today.
