Kelly Rowland and Mugler are implied. The singer attended the “Nope” premiere at the TCL Chinese Theater in Los Angeles on July 18 wearing a slinky look from the French fashion brand. Roland’s dress features a midi hemline with a draped skirt, mesh-panel bodice with several hip cutouts, and thin straps running down the back.
Rowland accessorized the outfit with black lace-up heels, diamond teardrop earrings, as well as several rings and a tennis bracelet. Rowland carried an embellished box clutch down the star-studded red carpet. Overall, the outfit is very reminiscent of the sheer Jean-Louis Sabaji dress Rowland wore at the recent Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty.
Mugler has become known for its sexy silhouettes and campy flourishes since its launch in the 1970s. Over the next few decades, the eponymous brand led by the late Thierry Mugler delivered memorable style moments like the shell dress worn by Cardi B at the 2019 Grammy Awards. Mugler was also responsible for Kim Kardashian’s mermaid look at the 2019 Met Gala. Mugler died in January at age 73, and celebrities have been paying tribute to the designer and his influence on fashion throughout the years.
Roland’s outfit created quite a stir on social media. In less than a day, her Instagram post has inspired more than 100,000 “likes” and many flame emoji comments, including from fellow Destiny’s Child alum Michelle Williams. Tina Knowles-Lawson, meanwhile, wrote, “Beautiful Kelly,” and Zwei simply commented, “Wow.” See photos of red carpet dresses and shop the dress ahead.
