Despite our best efforts, the low-rise trend has completely infiltrated mainstream fashion, moving beyond its rightful place in fond Y2K memories. This is thanks to celebrities like Sidney Sweeney, Keke Palmer and Dua Lipa. At first it seemed like a fun exercise in nostalgia. But now it’s time to suffer the consequences. Julia Fox, a fashion icon in her own right, finally got her hands on the low-rise, and in true Fox fashion, she took the trend to the ultimate level.
The actress and certified magician was spotted at a New York City restaurant wearing a pair of black leather pants that sagged much lower than any other pants. She was joined by “Sailing Sunset” star Christine Quinn, who wore a yellow ruffle mini dress with side cutouts, as well as drag artist Citi Hayden and model Amelia Gray Hamlin. The sheer nonchalance with which Fox wears these NSFW pants makes us think she might be some kind of genius: the kind who knows she can garner ridiculous amounts of engagement at the drop of a pin. . . Or the cut of his pants. She talks to people, and while we may have a lot of questions about the logistics of her outfit (how she keeps everything together, sitting or not is an option, who her wax girl might be), you can’t deny her power. If you can’t believe this particular look, Fox recently shocked people when she went grocery shopping in her underwear. And before that, she turned heads by converting her jeans into a bra top. But despite all her viral fashion moments, the internet still can’t decide if she’s an inventive legend for drama, merely another celebrity seeking attention, or both. On the off chance that it’s not really that deep, and it is, in fact, a confident woman rocking a pair of absolutely freaky bottoms, we invite you to enjoy winning the award for Fox’s ultimate low rise. No one wears a crown (or pants) like him!
