It is not surprising that an iconic actress like Jennifer Lopez will take place in our collective memory because of a certain onscreen outfit. Following the recent premiere of her Netflix documentary “Haftime”, the 52-year-old came out wearing an all-white pantsuit for a multi-hyphenate after-party, which immediately brought us back to our classic 2002 rom-com “Made in Manhattan”. Lopez’s character, Marissa Ventura, borrows a double-breasted peacock and matching slacks from a hotel guest for a walk in the park with her love interest Christopher Marshall (Ralph Fiennes). The memorable outerwear moment features the same milky-white shade as the look of her latest street style.
It’s been 20 years since Lopez played Marisa, and there’s a modern update to the overall look in question: her wide-legged trousers come in a soft denim fabric, and she undoed her oversized blazer to reveal a fitted ribbed T-shirt. A V neckline. While Marissa adorned her look with a snake-print leather slingback and thin gold hoop, Lopez’s after-hours assembly consisted of a silver metallic platform and Lauren Schwartz diamond drop earrings (which she wore on the red carpet with Tom Ford velvet before).
Although this monotonous moment immediately brought fans back to “Made in Manhattan”, this is not the first time that Lopez has been spotted in a white dress from head to toe. Five years after the movie’s release, she arrived at the Ivory Coordination for a US weekly party that also paid tribute to Marissa Ventura. And, most recently, Lopez wore a sophisticated medium-length white coat like Kat Valdez in 2022’s “Mary Me”. Up front, we’ve rounded up the all-white looks mentioned to remind you of the favorite “Made in Manhattan” scene.
