Lenny Klum, daughter of Heidi Klum, recently joined her high school love. Instead of heading to the dress site and local boutiques for the perfect prom dress, the 18-year-old model – who is also a Dior Beauty and GHD Ambassador – returned to her mother’s closet for the occasion. Lenny chose a sleek, strapless black dress for Prom, a photo of which she shared on Instagram on Monday, writing, “Uncle’s outfit is Prom Night.”
The 48-year-old supermodel and host of “Making the Cut” first wore the timeless number more than two decades ago in 1998 for the HBO charity special “Comic Relief VIII”. At the time, she was paired with a plain black dress Gold tie necklace and black open toe pumps, wearing her light-brown hair straight. When the hemline hits Heidi in the knee, Lenny’s dress appears to be maxi length. Lenio has kept the spin on his own look, accessorizing it with an Adina Jewels tennis necklace and a glass mesh purse.
Lenny isn’t the first celebrity kid to make a meaningful (and sustainable) choice to pull from her parents’ archives. In 2021, actor Leila Rachen gave her “Waiting to Exhale” premiere outfit to her daughter Asia Rochan Fuka for her prom. That same year, Brown Shields’ daughter, Rowan Francis, wore a strapless red gown for her prom – exactly the one Shields wore to the 1998 Golden Globes. Angelina Jolie’s children are also reported to have borrowed items from their mother’s closet: During Jolie’s “The Eternal’s” press tour last autumn, her 15-year-old daughter, Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, wore a printed dior dress that belonged to her mother, when she was 17 years old. Elderly Zahra Jolie-Pitt wore Jolie’s 2014 Oscar gown on the red carpet.
