The high slits and cutouts may be Sierra’s signature, but her latest outfit takes her rugged style to new heights. In celebration of the launch of Sports Illustrated’s 2022 swimsuit issue in NYC on May 19, the singer actually dressed up as a cover star, for which she joined the front-page magazine’s co-models Kim Kardashian, Yumi Nu and Mae Mask. Siara came out on the red carpet in a completely black outfit by Lakuan Smith with a bodysuit with numerous cutouts, a low-rise miniskirt with layers on top and heeled sandals to create the illusion of a dress.
Sierra, who wore a leopard-printed swimsuit by Lakuan Smith and a cowboy hat on the cover, chose to tap the designer again for her party look. Decorated with cutouts along the chest, abdomen and buttocks, her turtleneck bodysuit included a built-in underwear bra and high leg cut, paired seamlessly with a ruffled skirt that hit her mid-thigh. The pieces are taken from Smith’s Autumn / Winter 2022 collection and were collected with the help of Searle’s longtime stylist Colin Carter. The 36-year-old singer-songwriter has access to stacked diamond bracelets, teardrop stud earrings and her diamond engagement ring. A glass-covered French manicure and an effortlessly wet hair updo complement the pair.
Known for her unexpected cutouts and fitted silhouette, Lakuan Smith is behind many of Sierra’s bold looks, including the brown rhinestone gown she presented to Smith at the ACE Awards in November. Recently, the singer wore a lot of distinctive looks, such as her metallic, zebra-print gown at the Gilded Glamor-themed Matt Gala and her asymmetrical slitted dress while hosting “The Ellen DeGeneres Show”.
