Small handbags, be damned — all this season are daring totes that are big enough to carry your entire life. And someone whose closet is full of clutches, crossbody bags, and a few other compact purse styles. very Mixed feelings about the trend. But if there was ever a brand that could influence my handbag allegiance, I knew it would be Cuana – the luxurious, ethical brand behind some of today’s most polished fashion essentials.
In all fairness: I’ve had my eye on Kuana’s chic tote offerings for a while (thanks Meghan Markle for that!) so naturally, when I heard that Kuana was planning a major overhaul of its handbag and tote stock, my interest was immediately piqued. After all, it was the same brand beloved (and religiously worn) by royalty and celebrities – including Jessica Alba and Angelina Jolie, among many others. Any collection revamp will have to compete with some of the designer’s cult-favorite styles, like the (now defunct) classic structured leather tote, while still staying true to Quanah’s reputation for timeless elegance.
Fortunately, I was lucky enough to test-drive Quan’s new bag style, the Easy Tote, before the product debuted. I’ll admit: even as a fan of the brand, I was wary of whether the style could live up to the hype of the luxe designer’s other, more mainstream bags. But until now, Quan’s new Easy Tote has made the impossible possible — make a tote believer out of even the staunchest mini-bag devotee. The bag (which is available to shop now!) has been my go-to accessory for the past few weeks — and I have a feeling it’ll continue to be my go-to into fall. Read on for my honest review of Cuyana’s new Easy Tote style.
What I love about the Chuana Easy Tote
Even after the first wear, you can tell the tote is built to last — a theme consistent with much of Quanah’s product lineup. The bag is crafted from a lightweight, grained Italian leather designed to soften with each wear – creating a chic and comfortable style that’s a perfect accessory for long walks.
The tote is surprisingly lightweight—so much so that Cuana markets it as the brand’s “lightest bag ever.” As someone who’s had some time to take the product for a spin, I can confirm: it’s really related to aerial promotion. Notorious for carrying a lot of stuff with me wherever I go – be it to the gym, airport, office and beyond, I always have my own daily essentials. As a result, I’ve historically had to rely on heavy, bulky, and downright inconvenient totes to keep all of my handbags organized. But thanks to Quan’s Easy Tote, I’ve got the space of a deep and chunky tote, without the hassle or extra weight. I suspect this is due to the tote’s minimalist design (another bonus, IMO), which eschews cliche bag buffers like synthetic linings or bulky hardware.
More than anything, I love the timeless elegance of Quan’s Easy Tote. The relaxed style boasts more of a squishy, breathable feel that’s easy, stylish and above all, subtle. Statement handbags and purses may be popular these days, but like most trends, it’s hard to predict whether they’ll be relevant next season. With the muted design of the Cuana Easy Tote, I have no doubt that the bag will be a sophisticated and polished staple in my closet for years to come.
What is worth noting
The tote features a double-handbag design, aimed at creating a more streamlined look, so users can easily switch between carrying the bag in the hand or over the shoulder. Initially, I was concerned that the short straps might look messy or even suffocate my arms when I chose to hold the bag over my shoulder. Fortunately, the straps are flexible and can be easily pushed into the tote when needed, all without damage or creases. when i wasn’t immediately Selling the strap design, I came to see the appeal — especially since it’s like getting one or two bags.
Another thing to note is the minimal storage compartment. The interior of the tote has a single, large hanging wall pocket, which is the perfect size to hold your phone, card holder or go-to lipstick or any other valuables you may need on hand. Personally, I don’t think bags have just one storage pocket — when it comes to totes, the simpler the design, the better! That being said, if you’re someone who relies on having more structure or organized space in your bag, this is definitely something to be aware of.
Who is the Kuana Easy Tote best for?
Some people mark the beginning of a new chapter in their lives with a fresh hairstyle or other adult investment. Others celebrate by splurging on a new Kuana handbag. I, like many other fans of the luxury brand, prefer the latter — which is why I’d say this Cuana tote is perfect for anyone looking for a timeless bag that they can pick up and carry through any season.
Deep style has plenty of interior space for everything from a school binder and work laptop to a reusable water bottle, wallet or cardholder, travel beauty bag, staple pair of sunnies and more (even at once!).
Whether you’re a grad student looking for a chic bag for school, a working woman who needs a practical tote for the office, or someone hoping to add more casual style to your wardrobe, Easy Tote is included. The ideal, go-anywhere bag that will help you feel polished and supported in any season.
