Check out what celebrities wore to the Hot 97 Summer Jam

As if that wasn’t enough of a hint, this year’s Hot 97 Summer Jam – which took place on Sunday, June 12, at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ – made it clear that festive fashion is back in full swing after the epidemic, halting some of the most anticipated events of the season. The annual hip hop festival, sponsored by New York-based radio station Hot 97FM, features some of the most popular acts offered by R&B and hip hop, including this year’s lineup of ChloĆ«, Cardi B, Pusha T, Fivio Foreign, and more. Not to mention that there were head-turning fashion moments that combined fancy trends like cutouts and catsuits with world style street scenes.

Bodiesuits were particularly prominent. Cardi B, who has a history of groundbreaking footsteps, surprised fans on stage with an archival multicolored jumpsuit from Jean-Paul Goltier’s Autumn / Winter 1995 collection. Styled by Colin Carter, the rapper’s futuristic look has a zipped bodice with a high neckline and multi-colored dots that create a delicate bikini graphic. The curve-hanging ensemble was paired with a pair of orange vinyl heel Aquazura and Gucci sunglasses with orange lenses. Chloe received the memo, arriving to perform in a red shiny woven design during the set of Fivio Foreign with a gold chainlink and a fringe belt made of metallic leather slingback.

Meanwhile, Dreamdoll pays homage to female hip hop icon Lil Kim with her nostalgic summer jams. The “ah ah ah” rapper kicked off the festivities with a pink camouflage-printed jumpsuit adorned with jewelry, reminiscent of Lil Kim’s unforgettable iridescent purple jumpsuit at the 1999 MTV Video Music Awards. Leaving her own twist on the exposed nipple, the Dreamdoll suite features a pink bedside paste in the shape of the classic New York Yankees logo to represent her birthplace, the Bronx, New York. In an interview with Essence Girls United, her stylist Demi Dorsey said, “Kim is a pioneer for women’s rap, from fashion, tone and song to energy and vibe. When you think of female rap, especially from New York, she’s the first, if the first If not here’s a new product just for you! ”
