Harper’s Bazaar made a surprise return to the New York Fashion Week scene, hosting its annual Icons Party on September 9 at Bloomingdale’s 59th Street flagship store. The star-studded soiree, which also celebrated the retailer’s 150th anniversary, closed its first official day in fashion week style, welcoming big-name celebrities who turned out in droves.
Laurie Harvey wowed the crowd in a daring Christian Cowan ensemble. Composed of a revealing micro crop top and a voluminous, high-waisted velvet maxi skirt in hot pink, it had all the hallmarks of a memorable look. Other stars who embraced the color included Shaw Mitchell in a feather-trimmed minidress from The Attic; Sabrina Carpenter in light blue crop top and column skirt; Ashley Graham Dark Purple Velvet De Petsa Separate; and Drew Barrymore in black and white Ralph Lauren tailoring, finished with a bright pink Christopher John Rogers coat.
Meanwhile, Dove Cameron made a case for sporting motor gear, reaching for an off-white armor-like top pulled from Balmain’s Fall 2022 collection. The star was hard to miss in the futuristic outfit, which boasted an aesthetic similar to what we saw on other Parisian catwalks like Dior last season. Cameron balanced the edge with a silky beige mermaid skirt.
Julia Fox, on the other hand, stuck to the neutral theme but went the sheer dress route at Joanna Prazmo. She sent shockwaves under the carpet with a Saran Wrap design that appeared like wax and was accented with metal hardware. Her matching clutch and plastic-wrapped pumps were eye-catching accessories, though they’re not surprising given the star’s record of outlandish looks.
