The best part about Tony Awards host dressing? There are plenty of opportunities for you to bring your dream mood board to life. For the big night, Ariana Debos set foot on the hosting spotlight, and stylists Jadrian Smith and Sarah Edmiston (professionally known as Jadrian + Sarah) decorated the Oscar winner in several head-turning assemblies.
“It’s not one look – for us, it was seven,” Smith told Popsugar “The running theme for this, as it were, was Broadway Drama. It really allows us to lean towards the drama of the moment. “
The two have collaborated with the boss, working closely with the brand and its new creative director Marco Falcioni, to create a “very cohesive narrative” through the various costumes of DeBoss. Edmiston revealed that the boss had taken the clothes from Germany in the hands of the team out of concern that they would not make it otherwise.
Edmiston shared, “We also had five different tailoring teams working around the clock to complete all the pieces.” “And everything is custom.”
They explored themes of joy and drama through striking cutouts, angular lines and vibrant colors like vintage and electric pink.
“Always on this team, we hope to send a message of inclusion,” Smith said. Edmiston added: “And optimism – it’s so important to us that everyone feels the celebration and can be a part of the story we’re telling.”
Up front, Smith and Edmiston are walking through their creative process, how to prepare the red carpet, and the items they always have on hand in case of a fashion emergency strike.
