Before stealing Valentino’s Haute Couture runway show on Friday, July 8, a crowd of hot pink-clad front row stars made waves on their arrival. Many famous names for the event flew to Piazza de Spagna in Rome, most of them boasting the Italian luxury home “PP Pink” as the official color of the season.
First, Anne Hathaway created a compelling case for wearing vivid shades from head to toe. She wore a sequin turtleneck top, complete with a peplum hem and a raincoat bodice. The long-sleeved design flowed elegantly over a bubble miniskirt, a fitted waist that spread around her. The actress, whose red carpet style has revived interest, continues to provide inspiration at every turn. Working with her stylist Erin Walsh, she maintained the pink theme with Valentino’s platform pump and Roman stud crossbody bag.
Hathaway Fashion House’s unforgettable fall was dressed in a barbecue-approved creation from the 2022 Ready-to-Wear collection, which has recently dominated the red carpet. Other VIP guests chose Ensemble from the same catwalk, including Ariana Debos, who wore an off-the-shoulder minidress embellished with floral appliqus; Ashley Park, who chose a submerged minidress with long sleeves; Tommy Dorfman, who was shiny in a sheer top and sequin pants; And Florence Pug, a publisher who also embraced the trend of nude dresses in tulle maxi gowns. Meanwhile, several notable stars have made stunning appearances in other Valentino designs, including Naomi Campbell, Tina Kunaki and Kate Hudson.
On the catwalk, or rather, on the runway of the Spanish Steps in Rome, a collection of poems was unveiled, presenting an unexpected combination of lively shadows and bold volume. A series of romantic bow-embellished gowns and skirts, as well as 3D taffeta blooms with rose and feather style, expresses extreme sophistication, while beautifully decorated coats and slouchy suits balance the theatrical effect with everyday practicality.
